Upload this card template to your League’s site and allow donors to immediately print out a card that they can give to the recipient of the gift. This will allow individuals to give throughout the holiday season. (Leagues are encouraged to thank and acknowledge donors through their regular mechanisms for all donations to the organization.)
This year, the League will participate in the third annual #GivingTuesday campaign on December 1, 2015. In the same way that retail stores come together to offer deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday brings the nonprofit community together on a universal platform to raise awareness about the importance of supporting our valuable missions and work.
Fundraising can be a challenge for a non-profit, grassroots organization like the League. In order to support their important projects, local Leagues have gotten creative with their revenue generating ideas and the results are often impressive. This fundraising success highlight is the League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle, MA.
The LWVUS Development Office is pleased to share with you the FY 2013-14 LWVUS/Education Fund Direct Marketing schedule for direct mail and telemarketing. Download the schedule to share with your Development chairs to assist planning for your League's fundraising activities.
As a League leader, you occasionally face questions about the rules that govern Leagues — what Leagues can do and what they can’t. We often receive similar questions at the national office. In order to shed light on the subject, we asked a lawyer specializing in nonprofits for detailed guidance. We combined the advice he gave us with information from IRS publications and other sources to produce a series of frequently asked questions and answers (FAQ). We are including those FAQs that relate most directly to the work of membership and leadership development here. Please feel free to share this document with other members of your board, including your treasurer.
