King amendment

Does the LWV have a position on the King amendment?

Aside from the farm animal protection issues ( ), the bill could have a broad impact on state laws dealing with agricultural products.

SNAP funding

With regard to cuts in the Farm Bill for funding for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), would it be appropriate to apply the League position on meeting basic human needs: "Persons who are unable to work, whose earnings are inadequate or for whom jobs are not available have the right to an income and/or services sufficient to meet their basic needs for food, shelter and access to health care"?
