An interesting article in Common Dreams on Friday, June 26, 2015 caught my attention.

"Ahead of UN climate talks in Paris later this year, the global climate justice movement is making its demands perfectly clear. The people are leading, say signatories to a bold statement, and governments must now follow.  Nothing less than a systemic tranformation of our societies, our economies, and our world will suffice to solve the climate crisis and close the ever- increasing inequality gap."

That is the key message of a new document—titled The People's Test on Climate 2015—endorsed by an unprecedented coalition of civil society organizations from around the world and sent Friday to world leaders ahead of United Nations climate talks next week and the widely-anticipated UNFCCC's Conference of the Parties in Paris (COP21) at the end of the year.

NOTE: This forum will cease to exist on June 30. If there is interest, a Google Group can be formed so our conversation can continue.

Leading up to December's talks in Paris it seems very important that we stay connected, share resources and support one another in our community efforts  with education and advocacy on this issue.

Who is on board?

Count me in!!

Would love to see a google group for Leaders, particularly at this critical time in the campaign to address climate change. There is no graver, more immediate threat to society and we all need to be "on board" as part of a people's movement to bring change.

A National Call to Climate Action, following in the multi-sector footsteps of the People's Climate March last September, is scheduled for 10/14/15. Actions will be happening all over the world in a decentralized format. This is the People's Climate March transforming to the People's Climate Movement! Here's an interesting YouTube, satiric bit on the Denton fracking ban situation.
