Last year in Virginia the General Assembly ask the Virginia Marine Institute of William and Mary to do a comprehensive study on the frequent recurring flooding in our area.  VIMS is presenting the results to the General Assembly this year. Their conclusion which was the same as other studys in the area was that there were several factors involved which was the same result determined by a year and 1/2 long study by the Hampton Comprehensive Waterways Group. I have not read the recommendations yet (150 page report) however, I wanted to send this link as a lot of the coastal areas are or soon will be seeing similar results.
