Use the attached document to utilize your social media channels around the presidential primaries as well as any elections in your community throughout 2016. The document includes draft messages for Facebook and Twitter as well as suggsted hashtags and images. Please tailor these messages to fit the elections in your community, such as including your primary date, voter registration deadline as well as election rules specific to your state, such as those around absentee and early voting.
In addition to these messages, we encourage Leagues to share any local media stories your League has generated, including letters to the editor, press statements, press hits or op/eds as well as information about the voter registration events you’ll be hosting and where eligible citizens can find you to get registered. Don’t forget to take photos of your events and use those in your posts as well!
Please also keep an eye on our website, blog and social media channels (both for the League of Women Voters and VOTE411.org) as we plan to roll-out additional articles and content throughout the 2016 elections season.
If your League needs additional information on how to leverage social media channels, please refer to the various resources available on the League Management Site. As election season continues, we hope to provide additional draft social media content on the League Management Site as well.
