Contact Information Policy

Official Contact Information for State and Local Leagues and ILOs

Official League contact information (names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses) will be made available on the League's website and also may be released to members of the public in response to requests.  In most cases this information will refer to a League office, phone number, or post office box, but, in rare instances, it may be the home contact information for a League president/co-president.

Contact Information for State and Local League and ILO Presidents/Co-Presidents

The names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of state and local League and ILO presidents/co-presidents are generally confidential, with the exception noted above.  This contact information may be released on an individual basis by the office staff at their discretion.

Once annually a League may order from the field service division a list of the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of state and local League and ILO presidents/co-presidents. The list will be transmitted electronically, and there is no charge for this service.  (If mailing labels are requested, a fee will be charged.)

Contact Information for League Members

The names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of League members are generally confidential, with the exceptions noted herein.  Contact information for nationally recruited members is routinely shared with appropriate state and local Leagues.

Names, League affiliations, and positions (but not contact information) of League members attending national conventions and councils may be shared with delegates at the time of the event.

Contact Information for Donors

The names and addresses (but not phone numbers or email addresses) of nationally-recruited members and of non-member donors may be rented or exchanged to meet the fundraising goals of the LWVUS/LWVEF.  Names, addresses, and phone numbers (but not email addresses) of individual non-member donors may also be shared with state Leagues through an annual sharing program and at the discretion of the staff.  Contact information for local members may not be rented, exchanged or shared.  (See the "Direct Mail Policies" for the complete policy.)
